- The actual wedding ceremony may have been at the church, but the reception party was held at the home of Mrs. George Saul, Lil’s older sister, Anna, who lived at 320 Washington Street, Jersey City. The account was brief in the New York Tribune of 20 July 1896, under the heading “A Week of Departures for the Sea Shore and Europe” appeared the following:
“A pretty wedding took place at the home of of Mr. and Mrs. George W . Saul, No. 320 Washington Street, on Monday evening, when Miss Lillie Federlichner and George J. Ritter were married. There were present Mr. and Mrs. Herte, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brennan, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Cahill, Miss Marie Prahn, Miss Woerlein, and Mrs. Van Houten”
