  • Notes
    • In his Marriage License, Theodore gave his occupation as Speculator. We suspect he was being mischevious! It has made us inquisitive as to what he was speculating in. This was not a wealthy family as we know it.

1885 NJ Census, the family lived in Park Ridge, Washington Township, and living at home were Theodore, wife Caroline, and children George F., Frederick W., Florence M., and Mabel Granger.

Theodore was elected to the Park Ridge Board of Education in the election held August 7, 1894

Newspaper clipping record of March 28, 1925 provides details of the Golden Wedding Anniversary held at 49 North Maple Avenue:

On March 28, 1925 Theodore and Carrie Granger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party held in their son's home on Maple Avenue, Park Ridge. The Grangers thought they had been invited for dinner and parchesi, and brought along their parchesi board. The house was decorated with gold and white decorations, including a yellow arch with colored lights and a centerpiece with yellow tulips. Mayor H.J. Werner of Hillsdale attended and wished the couple many happy returns. Dancing followed, and needless to say, some old time dances were nimbly stepped by the 'Old Timers" much to the amusement of the 'young foxtrotters'. The couple received many presents including blooming potted plants. Those in attendance were: Mr. & Mrs. A. J. Cooper, Elsie Cooper, Clarence Blauvelt, Anna Ritter and Carrie Ritter , Mayor and Mrs. Werner, Mr. & Mrs. S. Streich, G.W. Saul, Mr. & Mrs. C.V. Shuttleworth , Mr. & Mrs. Milton Packer , Mrs. J. Burdef , Grant Pritchard , Mr. & Mrs. A.E. Bush, Mr. & Mrs. W.T. Mead, Mr. & Mrs. J.T. Mulhall, Edmund Mulhall, Florence Amos, Mrs. L.S. Burdick, Mr.& Mrs. George Granger, Jr., Mr. & Mrs. Ellsworth Turse, Mr. & Mrs. George Granger, Sr.

By 1930, Theodore and Caroline had moved to Ramapo in Spring Valley, NY and lived near their daughter, Florence May, married to Aaron Cooper. In the 1920 Census, they were living with their other daughter, Mabel, married to Percival Blauvelt.
